The Retentionist. Turning one-time buyers into regulars

About The Retentionist

Turning one-time buyers into regulars.

The Retentionist is a working journal about the least glamorous, most profitable part of ecommerce: getting the customer you already paid for to buy again. We write about email and SMS lifecycle flows, loyalty programs that merchants actually keep, win-back campaigns, and the retention metrics — repeat purchase rate, LTV, churn — that decide whether a store compounds or treads water.

How we work

Every claim we publish is either sourced to a named dataset or platform report, or clearly labeled as our own working estimate with the assumptions shown. Teardowns are based on real flows we have received or built; benchmarks state their sample and time window.
